Kuroko
Kuroko Shirai from To Aru Majutsu no Index is the latest addition to my figure collection. Thanks to Dancing Queen‘s post about Toylet’s sale, I decided to stop by and see what they had.
To my surprise they had Kuroko and for a good bargain. Most of the online stores I frequent had her listed above $50 or sold out while Toylet had her for $40. I decided not to let this opportunity pass and ordered Kuroko last Wednesday. I was a bit put off by the $15 shipping fee but I decided to forgive Toylet because it arrived at my door today (Monday).
I was trying to decide whether to go with Kuroko or a Little Busters figure for the same price at BBTS but in the end Kuroko won due to price and availability. I wasn’t sure about the quality because I forgot to check who the maker is but once I saw Kotobukiya on the box, I knew it was good.
I figured now would be the best time to take as many pictures as possible before she gets covered in dust like my other figures. And like I had mentioned in one of my previous posts, my current setup is very restrictive. I can’t get a lot of different angles without having to move the figure. It also doesn’t help that my tripod is taller than the shelf I use for taking pictures. Enough of my complaining, time to post some pics.
I am quite happy that she arrived a few days earlier than I had expected
I decided to try a different background since poster board white was starting to get boring. For some reason this came out with a lot more blue than the rest of the set. By the way, I chose this color since it was the closest color I had to the blue background in the box.
Getting close to a 360 degree view of Kuroko
Too much on the top light and not enough on the diffused light, my bad. Doesn’t seem too bad though…
The symbol on her arm band means she’s a member of Judgment
F.Y.I.:
Judgment: The public moral committee. It is made up of students with powers from every grade level whose duty is to maintain peace and order within the school system. As most of the city population are students, it is the duty of Judgment to catch those delinquents misusing their powers along with other offenders and protect the students. In the event of a situation that Judgment members cannot handle, their superiors and the city’s security forces, the Anti-Skills will take over. Overall, the role of a Judgment officer is more like a part-time civilian patrol officer as their authority is normally limited to their school grounds and they can only use their authority outside when ordered to by their superiors or in cases of emergency. Most Judgment members can be recognized by the green stripped arm band with a shield symbol they wear.
The school bag is an optional item. I prefer to keep it on her.
Though Kotobukiya did a nice job on the sweater vest and shirt
Her right arm and three stakes (not removable). They were gray in the anime if I remember correctly
Left and right bows on her hair
Oh will you look at the time. It’s time for pantsu shots.
Because of the way Kuroko speaks, I was expecting a bit more sexy lingerie or at the very least, striped ones. Whatever, I’ll take what I’ve got
Finally, a full body 360 view without the skirt
And that’s all for now. I haven’t decided who will be the next subject but when I do decide on one, I’ll be taking pictures over the weekend.
