[W] Summer 2011: Week 3
It’s finally week 3 and I’m happy to announce that I haven’t added any new shows to my watch list. This post is late this week because it got busy over here on the day that I usually start working on my post and I didn’t get a chance to work on this until today. It doesn’t help that I can’t remember what I watched last week.
The iDOLM@STER
Today we focus on Yukiho, the resident androphobe. It’s a good thing that she’s not violent like a certain waitress or there would be a pile of dead bodies. The girls of 765 get their first group gig and things did not go as planned. Wrong stage outfits, having to help setup the venue, and old stage equipment… what else could go wrong? Oh right… lots and lots of men. Overall, this episode wasn’t bad but Yukiho making a fool of herself on stage made me cringe and skip past that scene.
Mawaru Penguindrum
The brothers sneak into Ringo’s house to search for the penguindrum and almost get caught when she returns from school. Ringo’s curry day plan didn’t go quite as well as she hope since she runs into Tabuki’s girlfriend. One thing leads to another and Ringo ends up having curry dinner at the Takakura house. Not a bad twist. Now the brothers just need to figure out what the penguindrum is and get it from Ringo. How hard can it be?
Kamisama no Memochou -This week’s featured banner-
It’s the conclusion to the second case. We get to hear about Minli’s reason for running an ice cream/ramen shop and Narumi comes up with a clever bluff to force the yakuza to bring Meo’s father out in public. I too think that Narumi’s decision to join the 4th’s yakuza group is a bad one but I guess it’ll come to play in the later episodes.
Mayo Chiki
Drama in my cheesecake show? I guess the show need something for character development. I’m just glad it wasn’t heavy. Time for the obligatory beach/pool/showing off my swimsuit figure episode and throw in a little bit of kidnapping on the side too. We get to see Subaru’s father as well. It wasn’t as hilarious as the previous episode but it wasn’t bad either. I’ve decided to keep watching this show.
Usagi Drop
Rin is finally warming up to Daikichi’s parents and they are warming up to her as well. We get a little bit more info about Rin’s mother and what was presented made me question if Rin really is Daikichi’s aunt. From what Rin said I suspect that Daikichi’s grandfather is not Rin’s father, she was made to believe that he was and she was just left there when he died. Maybe I’m wrong… we shall see.
Ro Kyu Bu!
More training along with the match starting near the end. Subaru figures out a way around Airi’s height complex and the match is off to a good start. Not a whole lot to say here since it’s just another episode of cute girls doing cute things.
NO. 6
We finally get to see Shion’s hair turn white. The bromolust was a little bit stronger on this episode, shirtless Shakespeare recitation anyone? Other than that, there’s not a whole lot to say about this time around. This show has a good plot potential so I’ll be sticking with it to the end.
Kamisama Dolls
Aki manages to escape, Hibino takes Utao out, and eventually Kyohei and aki have a little one on one conversation. Or at least they did until Koushiro decides to “drop in”. It seems the song that each doll has reflects the personality of the user. Another user shows up at the end but his name is not given so we’ll have to wait until the next episode.
