[W] Spring 2012: What I watched
Yet another late post. I thought about skipping this and just combining it with my winter and spring wrap up but I decided against that because the format would have been a mess.
Fate Zero Season 2
This is second half of Fate Zero, it picks up where it left off in December. It’s my most anticipated show of the season and it did not disappoint.
Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? of the Dead
Second season of Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? and another show that I was quite looking forward to watching. I was sad to find out that it was only 10 episodes long.
Jormungand
I picked up this action series on a whim because I was in a mood for something Black Lagoon-ish. The art style takes a bit getting used to but the story is decent enough to follow.
Sakamichi no Apollon
I heard that both the director and the composer for Cowboy Bebop were teaming up again for this show so I couldn’t help but check this out. This is a story takes place in 1966 Japan and it’s about two guy’s friendship and the bonds they forge over their mutual passion for jazz music. Did I just say jazz? Hell yeah I did. I’m looking forward to the sound track.
Sankarea
I read a couple of chapter from the manga and decided to give this one a shot. Nothing really ground breaking story-wise, just the main love interest being a zombie. The character designs are interesting enough for me to watch.
Tasogare Otome x Amnesia
I expected this to be something like Another or Higurashi but I never expected it to be more light hearted. Sadly the budget for this show is definitely on QUALITY levels.
Accel World
I was initially hesitant to pick this up because Haruyuki’s voice actor was the same guy who voiced shoe Shu from Guilty Crown. I’m glad I decided to stick with it. Kuroyukihime is love.
Eureka Seven AO
Is this a prequel or a sequel? Even some of the people who followed Eureka Seven weren’t sure. Honestly, I’m just watching it for the mecha designs, Fleur, and Elena.
Hyouka
It’s a KyoAni show and a mystery series to boot. This could end up either being good or bad. I decided that I’ll take the gamble and hope for the best.
Saki Achiga-hen
While not a continuation of the first Saki series, this one chronicles the progress of another school in the mahjong tournament. The biggest draw for me is the chance to see the original Saki cast. This new group of girls isn’t bad looking either.
Queeen’s Blade: Rebellion
Obligatory download and backlog because I’ve seen the first season and backlogged the second. Will I ever get around to watching this?
Shining Hearts ~Shiawase no Pan~
I had high hopes for this show but ended up dropping this by the 2nd episode. Not even Tony Taka at the helm of this show’s visual department could save this. Now I can’t help but feel a bit of disappointment every time his artwork pops up on Danbooru.
Now that that’s done, it’s time to wrap up both Winter and Spring… if I ever find the time to do it.
