Shutterbug quest
For the past few hours I’ve been looking through websites and Amazon.com for a good digital camera. My current digital camera is a Polaroid a300 that I bought at Wal-Mart about 3 to 4 years ago. Back then I was naive and thought that Polariod instantly meant good quality, digital zoom and optical zoom meant the same thing, and that 3 mp was all I need to get decent pictures.
I sure as hell was wrong.
If you have ever seen the pictures I’ve posted from my camera, you can clearly tell it’s utter crap. The best it can produce are semi-decent pictures on sunny days. Most of the images that come out are grainy and dark or over exposed when using the flash. I’ve had to use my reading lamp to help take better pictures in low light and even then the images still sucked. It’s not worth the $80 that I paid back then and it’s not worth whatever it is selling for today.
What I’m currently looking for in a new camera:
- affordability
- ability to change the iso settings
- compact size
- no less than 3x optical zoom
- nothing less than 5 mp
- can take good pictures in low light settings
- wide angle lens would be a plus
- macro is a must
- needs to have a rechargeable battery not AA or AAA
I mainly want to use it for taking pictures of my figures and gundams as my current camera is unable to to deliver good images. I fell in love with Danny Choo’s Lumix LX3 but there’s just no way in hell I’d ever be able to pony up $500. Though I’m currently focusing on Panasonics, I might check out some Canons after reading some good comments from Danny Choo’s site.
Unfortunately, I can only dream about having a good camera at the moment due to my current funds (or lack of). If I save up now (meaning I don’t buy Nightfall or Factions, birthday presents, and Christmas presents) I may just have enough money to buy the LX3 by next summer ;___;
Edit:
In the span of just a few hours, the price of the LX3 went up to $620 ;___;
