Trading figures part 1
Finally, a new figure related post. I know it’s been a while but sadly my schedule keeps me too busy to stay on top of these posts. I’m going to focus on my trading figures for now and for the first post, it’s Neon Genesis Evangelion figures. I remember getting these some time around late 2005 to middle of 2006. Back then, all I could afford were trading figures.
The passage of time and the elements have not been kind on my trading figures but I am partly to blame as my room is constantly dusty no matter how many times I vacuum it and it gets very hot during the summer as we don’t have central AC in this house.
This Rei figure seems to have survived well enough
Unfortunately Misato is not aging as well as the other figures. Those black streaks on her arms is paint from the gloves that rubbed off while I was moving her from the shelf to my photo area. The plastic seems to be melting as well (F.Y.I.: I took these pics back in December) or rather fusing together as her right hand seems to have done so to her head.
This Asuka tends to gather dust a lot but surprisingly is holding up quite well.
One does not need a ruler to see that Rei is leaning quite a lot.
These two are doing quite well. It helps that they are sitting down rather than standing up.
Overall, this bunch is doing fairly well with only 2 figures starting to show deterioration. I hate to say it but I predict that they will be nothing more than a puddle of plastic in 4 years. Next post will be Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles group.
