Onani Master Kurosawa – Revisited
All hail Kurosawa!
Last night I was trying to get RPG to read Onani Master Kurosawa and I ended up re-reading the entire series in one sitting. Today I decided to read my old blog post about it to see how much of my impression of the story has changed. Much to my surprise, I discover that I re-read this story almost exactly the same date I did 3 years ago. Being off by 2 days is not bad. The world moves in quite a strange way…
For the most part, my impression has not changed. Kurosawa is badass, Takigawa is love, Kitahara suffered the most, Nagaoka is the best bro a guy could ever have, the girl Kurosawa end up with was quite a curveball, chapter 17 is one of the most painful chapters I have ever read, and Ise Katsura wrote one hell of a story.
Even after finishing the two part short story extra I found myself wanting more, wanting to know what happens to Kurosawa, Takigawa, Nagaoka, Kitahara, and Sugawa after high school. Unless Ise Katsura decides to write more short stories, I will never know.
I still stand by my wish for an anime adaptation. I think 12 or 13 episodes would be enough to do it justice. I definitely recommend this story anyone and who knows, maybe in another 3 years I’ll find myself reading it again.
